A tennis match of discussion.

The debate is a difficult form of discussion to partake in. It requires you to not only know what it is that you are defending but also to know how to poke holes in the claims of your adversary. In the case of our debate I felt as though that we were both too timid to take a stab at each other or to really go into depth about the topic given the time constraint. That said I felt that using stats and a lot of logos was not in my best interest. I felt that going the way of pathos was the method which I should follow. I felt it suited me well. Having the information to back me up made me feel more confident in using pathos because should she throw me a curveball that required an informed answer I could still volley a return. I felt that we both did well and I feel like Katherine deserves a pretty good grade for not showing any signs of weakness that she couldn't shake in prior class presentations.

Improv on Alcohol

I felt that in Katherine's improv speech she was able to bring up some good points given the brief nature of the presentation. She has a sincere look in her face that suggested earnestness and honesty. The topic of alcohol on campus is a tough one to defend albeit to promote it. I thought that she did not show any signs of fidgeting. I don't think I heard any "umms" either. All and all she did a great job and I see no negative side to her presentation.

Katherine's major Presentation on Studying Abroad

Katherine showed major improvements in this presentation. She omitted very little from her strong bank of knowledge on the subject. The subject itself was very relevant and easily related to. Having experienced it herself she is filled with credibility. Her projection was very good. She seemed almost incapable of saying "um". Her slide show was appropriate and without excessive text. Over all I would say this was her best presentation. The only flaw in her performance was a little toe tapping.

The 2nd installment of Kathy G's public speaking

I felt that the text she used was one that can move people. It was a good choice. It had a lot of powerful themes within it. 9/11 is all too often used as either a red herring to distract people from the greater issues at hand or it is pandered in the faces of thousands as grounds for totalitarianism and the foundation of imperialism. Rarely do you hear a good piece about 9/11 that isn't fueled by political motives. This was one of those speeches.
Katherine showed signs of improvement since the last time she performed a reading in front of the class. She has reduced her giggling and toe tapping. That is not to say that they have gone away entirely but she is definitely moving in the right direction. I look forward to her next performance.

Kathy G's delivery of "Fear Not the Heat O' the Sun"

The delivery was a pretty good one. It was solid in the sense that the message was transmitted from her to the audience. That isn't to say that it was flawless. The flaws that were made apparent were giggling, tapping of the shoes, and the self-corrections that were made. To end on a lighter note, I thought that her projection was the best part of her preformance.
